Our team has been working hard to improve your experience as a business owner using Amidship! We've switched to a new design that helps us better serve you and your business - especially when you're on-the-go! 

Read on to learn more about your new menu navigation and mobile friendly experience!

New menu navigation

We've updated the menu bar to:

  • Make it more accessible: It's now easier for you to access the menu from the bottom of your screen on a mobile device.
  • Lay the foundation for additional features: We've gotten many requests to add a few more features to help you sell your services. One of the most popular requests is allowing you to sell packages, instead of just single appointments. To lay the foundation for these changes, we needed to update parts of our admin.
  • Generally improve the organization of your account: The admin pages are now grouped in a more systematic order.

We'll walk you through the main changes below:


Bookings vs. Sales tab

The "Appointments" tab is now named "Bookings", while the old "Bookings" tab is now named "Sales". 

So what's the difference between the tabs now?

  • Bookings: The focus of this tab is to give you information on your appointments, such as the date, time, client, and team member. We'll be adding more functionality to this page to help you easily access this information on-the-go.
  • Sales: The focus of this tab is to give you information on the financial status of your business. While you can still use this page to view appointment information, we'll be adding more changes to help you better track your sales and payments. This setup will also allow us to packages and some of the other features requested by business owners.

Business Tab

The "Business" tab is now where you'll go to manage all aspects of your business, other than scheduling. Under this tab, you'll find:

  • Contact Information: Update your business phone number and address as it appears on your website
  • Team: Add or edit team members and their availability
  • Website: Manage most parts of your website including your testimonials, FAQs, and photo gallery.
  • Services: Add or edit the services your business offers
  • Social media: Connect your social media accounts to your business website

How can I view my website?

You'll notice that the "view your website" button is no longer always available on top menu bar. If you need to access your website:

  • Click on the "Business" tab
  • Click on the "eye" icon on the top right hand corner of any of the pages under this tab.

Settings Tab

Under the "Settings" tab you can now make general changes to your profile and account. Please also note that this is where you would go to log out of your account.

  • Booking policies: Update the rules and regulations you'd like us to help you enforce e.g. your cancellation policy
  • Payment methods: Activate your preferred payment method
  • User profile: Update your account password
  • Help center: Click here to access all our help documentation and contact us should you have any questions or issues.

Mobile-friendly experience

With the new mobile experience, accessing your account on your mobile device is now a faster, more enjoyable experience. To make it easier to access Amidship from your phone, we'd recommend adding it to your home screen.

What are the benefits of adding Amidship to your home screen?

  • You'll have quick and easy access to your account whenever you need it - at the click of a button.
  • When accessed from your home screen, Amidship will now act like an app. This means that the interface will be much cleaner without the distractions of a web browser.

Add Amidship to your home screen

Follow the steps below to add Amidship to your home screen:

Android

  1. Open Google Chrome and log into your Amidship account
  2. Click on the menu button, then click on "Add to Home screen"
  3. Enter a name for the app e.g. "Amidship Admin"
  4. The Amidship icon will now appear on your home screen like any other app. You can click on this icon any time you want to access your account.

iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch)

  1. Open Safari and log into your Amidship account
  2. Click on the "share" button (rectangle with an arrow pointing upward) at the bottom of your screen
  3. Click on the "Add to Home Screen" button in the menu
  4. Enter a name for the app e.g. "Amidship Admin"
  5. The Amidship icon will now appear on your home screen like any other app. You can click on this icon any time you want to access your account.

If you have another type of smartphone or tablet, it probably has this feature too. When logged into your Amidship account, simply click on the menu and look for an option named “Add to home screen” or “Pin to home screen.”

To remove Amidship from your device’s home screen, just press and hold the Amidship icon and remove it like you would any other app icon.
